The Peeesseye is Jaime Fennelly (electronics/harmonium/keyboards/vocals), Chris Forsyth (guitar/vocals), and Fritz Welch (percussion/vocals). Together, they have released five CDs and one 7 inch (all on the Evolving Ear label) since forming in 2002, and have maintained a steady stream of gigs in the US and Europe.

Peeesseye music has recently been described as having “the feel of a field recording of some bizarre ritual not meant to be seen by outsiders – Alan Lomax harrowing hell,” by Shaun Brady in Philadelphia City Paper and “the most remarkable smorgasbord of back porch minimalism, sound poetry, and urban decay of recent memory” by Eric Weddle in Signal To Noise magazine.

The most recent Peeesseye CD Commuting Between the Surface & the Underworld appeared in numerous 2006 Top 10 lists, and was chosen by Dan Warburton as one of the most notable recordings of the year in his column in The Wire magazine. David Keenan described the Commuting… CD in Volcanic Tongue as “Aspects of Sun City Girls at their most spirit-devouring and venomous, with vocal trolls, folks curses and hypnotic acoustic spells blown apart by rude bursts of fuzz, almost NWW-style clank and some ear-clotting sine wave minimalism.”

Their new CD, Mayhem in the Mansion, Shivers in the Shack

The Peeesseye will be on tour in Italy , Germany , Austria from October 23 - November 12. For more info see www.evolvingear.com
